"You can't keep it." Came the dark, emotionless tone to the left of the darkened cavern. A shuffling was heard as claws scratched against rock.
"N-no! Please don't!" The high pitched frightened reply came back, echoes bouncing off the stone walls. A luminescent shape crept closer to what seemed to be a wall with a large, tan mass beside it. Tail curled protectively around something, but what was it? A growl arose from the depths of the female's throat as the white wolf crept closer and closer, the coarse fur on her back was spiked, standing on end. But she knew that resistance was not tolerated in this area.
It came as a surprise, as large white teeth snapped close to the female's face. She flinched, jerking her head back and squeezing her eyes shut. Her protective stance was lowered as the wolf crept beside her, none to gently grasping the scruff of what seemed to be a whelp. Whines and whimpers escaped the pup, being taken away from the only warmth it knew.
Carried far from its birthplace, the pup was now placed in the snow. Left to die without a second thought. The pup let a pitiful squeak escape its maw, but its efforts were in vain. The cold seeped into its fur, chilling the pup to the bone. Its cries became weaker, movements began to cease. All went still.

"Y-yes, daddy?" A soft, weak squeak was heard as a shuffling noise accompanied it. The pup, barely visible in the dark, curled up next to said male's side, nuzzling his shoulder.
"You still don't know where you came from...?" The male fox shifted, curling his bright, fluffy tail around the young pup. She snuggled into it a bit, resting her head on it before she'd close her eyes.
