When he woke up he suffered from a throbbing headache that made him lose his balance for almost 12 hours when he attempted to walk. After that incident pieces of little memory came back to him, such as his name and his age but the one of his pack, family, siblings, placement of camp were gone. So he staggered around for a good 5 months before tracking a pack he has thrown an eye on [fuckin pun intended im so sorry].
Soon enough he started to approach them, heard it is called Intrepidus. It seemed rather strong and seemed to be taking in astray wolves from around so he saw his chance of surviving and decided to make an attempt at joining. Better with them than alone? Right?
The shadow creatures appeared in the 5 months of him being all by himself. He has always had a weak sanity that cracked easily and the smash against the rock didn't help with it either, it made it worse and the injury triggered the psychological part of the brain and left damage to his mentality causing hallucinations that seemed way too real to him to the point where he felt touch of it even though nothing was around him.
In a night of full moon the moon played with the shadows of the trees too well and drove Wayward into a mindlocked state controlled my anxiety and stress and the huge urge to escape. All this at once caused him to gnaw at his front limbs, even biting down on them which left the nasty deep slices of his fangs.
At some point his body gave out and he fainted in the middle of the woods on soft moss. When he awoke in the morning, he didn't remember a thing from the night he spent in the woods by himself. Seeing the injuries on his front legs he looked in shock, not knowing he did this himself. So of course his mind tricked him, blaming the figures he sees all the time in the corner of his eyes and sometimes clear right infront of him.
Ever since them, he is deeply scared of them, anxious they will tear his limbs off when he sleeps causing him not to practically always.
