Deities and Legendary Wolves Edit
Dammam - the first wolf, created by Tor and Fenris to rule the earth.
Fenris - a wolf god; maker of sky and stone - the Dragga or male wolf god. Wolves see him in the sun.
Sita - a kind and gentle she-wolf sent down by Tor, her mother, to bring goodness and truth into wolves' lives - sacrificed by Tor for the wolves' sake and to avoid any confusion among worship of Tor and Fenris.
Tor - a wolf goddess; maker of the world, the Drappa or female wolf god. Wolves see her in the moon and its phases. She and Fenris created the world and brought light out of the darkness.
Tratto - a wolf who first brought together the Balkar packs. A brave wolf from the high mountains, and the wolf who united the competing packs in Transylvania. A wolf who insisted on suppressing superstition in the land beyond the forests - he made the Balkar pray regularly to Tor and Fenris, and outlawed and talk of cults or dark crafts. All around Tratto kept peace within the Balkar packs.
Va - the second wolf made by Fenris and Tor; she was fashioned out of Dammam's fang to be his mate. She gave him a litter of thirty three pups, made up of every type of wolf in the world: timber, red, arctic, chancos and of course, the grey: Varg Fren, Va's favourite.
Varg Fren - the first grey wolf. Depending on the source, Fren was either the greatest hunter and fighter in the forest, dark and mysterious, a loner and something of a villian too - or, described as the kindest father and best defender of Va's brood. Brave and cunning, and always at odds with Tor and Fenris; Fren was a hero of a thousand wonderful adventures.
Wolfbane - a demon spirit; Satan, the Evil One, the Shape Changer. Placed into the world and created by Tor and Fenris. Depicted supposedly as a giant wolf with yellow-black eyes and teeth the size of trees. Others claim he could take the shape of anything that ate meat. Also told as a cub's tale that if they misbehaved, Wolfbane would gobble them up. Said long who he made a blood pacts with the scavengers of the air. Cults of Wolfbane were popular in the ancient times, before the coming of Sita. Supposed to have lives or resided in the Stone Den - he lives in the earth and only rose at sunset, then came to drink blood with his great fangs. Also said to live in the underworld, and the Red Meadow. He would bring a terrible winter that would shroud the earth. Lastly, he too, wields the Sight.
The Balkar, or Night Hunters, are a group of Draggas led by The First Wolf. Their favorite title is First Among the Putnar.

The Balkar are made up of six packs. The packs have a dominance order, where certain packs are more dominant than others.

~Chases story~
In the early years of Chase’s birth home, the Dragga(Alpha in common tongue), Lord Theineas reigned under an iron fist which was different than the beginning of their line. The world around them always lay siege to his father’s great grandfathers’ territory to rule over the northwestern region of Novakis, Saova. There were treasures more precious than the gems and abundant of animals around. It was the forge that created the armor each of the wolves of war to wear.
They were unstoppable, never to fall for centuries when the three brothers and their sister from long ago, discovered when the mountain was ablaze, ore came crashing down in a cave where the three rested for some time during their journey for a new home for their pack, when their own Alphas deserted them and went mad. When the three witnessed the coming of the raw ore melting to the cave floor after a shaft above was overheated from the constant fire, a new material was made. They’ve tested it, of curiosity and saw that no matter what they tried it didn’t break. Here they’ve put together their minds and tried to mimic what they saw the fire did. Hence after long days of slaving, they made the forge the present wolves still used to craft their flawless armor to this day. The three emerged before the dozens and dozens of wolves in some head pieces and body decorations. Then the Kings and Queen declared that they would lead the wolves to a fruitful life of peace and harmony. When they first would be attack, they prove that their findings and crafts reigned victory over their enemies after they heard of the metal the mountain gave the three wolves. Believing when they would take the forge, the fortress, they too will be given an amazing gift from the gods of the great mountain and their greed will cast a shadow over the region. Though that did not come to pass, the kind hearts of the second king and his sister the Queen never let any of their subjects hunger, nor sicken. The sister was the kindest of the three. She was called “Isha”, she was the healer and lead huntress of the pack’s hunting party. Her fur was as white as the new winter moon with eyes as the purest emerald gem, and a voice of a soft running creek. The second oldest was “Allaros” he was patient and the guard for the pack and the backup for his elder brother, his own passion grew when he was teaching young ones to train for battle, or find those who would be suited better for the Forge, basically finding the talents each one. For battle, crafts, healing with his sister, hunting, or for his own role other, patrolling and scouting the outer reaches of the territory they claimed. His regiment was for those talented for a light foot and long running, they were the quickest. His own coat was a thick rusted red and a light tan undercoat, his face was handsome yet ridged. His eyes reflected that of a morning star’s whiten everlasting glow and a voice of a warm summer’s breeze. Now the eldest, dark as the raven’s body, undercoat of ashes of a burning log and eyes of the harvest moon’s golden light. Had a more precious gift, his eye sight which would be passed down in his family for years to come, the ability to see farther than the average wolf. His voice was of a dark source, a fear that lingers in the back of your head, though he was kind to those within his pack, with the gentle expression from his eyes and a non-forgiving winter storm for those caught in its grasp. From the abandonment of the alphas before him, he was nothing more than the simple wolves with no nobility or ranks. The three were orphans at six months; their parents were the ones to die in a needless mission that claimed both of their lives. He had heart, spirit and strength, he was one the one to keep the pack to stick together after the mad king disappeared. He was the one who stepped up with the knowledge and faith that his two younger siblings would stick with him and hold the new pack together, his backbone.
On weeks on end of traveling, he remained in the lead, though his paws were blistering from the dead realm they were leaving. Came upon the mountain valley and was for sure that the flourish surroundings were speaking to him, drawing him into the climbs to the mountain side where they witnessed the birth of the forge. Here he knew he had to be much more than the wolf who convinced to the wolves together in concern of the death that would take them if they parted ways. With a positive vote of all wolves, him and his siblings destiny was just unraveling, they became the kings and queen of Novakis. “Kahma” He was called and he rose to be the mighty warlord and protector of the realm of Novakis. With the crafts of the armor the pack grew in numbers and old were rested in the peaceful part of the mountain, where they would look down from the heavens to see the pack prevail. Times weren’t easy for the new packs coming to claim what they’ve created. Allaros was lost in the eighth year of their founding, the ambushed that took him and his scouting party, outnumbered, they knew how to overcome the iron armor but they would be the only ones to ever know. It gravely hurt the King and sister Queen. Still what was taken was taken as well, the enemies were soon rid of the mortal realm. Yet it wouldn’t bring their beloved brother back. He left behind a son and a mate. No one knew what came of them as they fell into history. Wounded the eldest brother’s own personality changed towards the enemies and stressed on the wolves he ruled over that they would too train harder, not to fall to those who wish to take away what they worked so hard for many years. Kahma came stricter, aggressive, even towards his own family of five, and his mate “Kita”. Though more towards his eldest son who would take the role as King, lord of the realm and his first born and so forth, embedding in his mind that we have to rule with an iron fist so there’s none that would fall and his enemies would fall even further that the gods can’t reach them. His dear sister couldn’t help the grieved king, she wasn’t able to save their deceased brother, nor could he, none would go to great lengths to meddle with death itself. She mourned her own way and kept a gentle smile to her daughter and her twin sons as well as her mate, her line would take the throne if her eldest brother passed but he would outlive her for several more years as time claimed their old bodies. For several seasons the pack itself grew even heartier, ruthless for enemies and remained kind for each other in the ways of Isha and her family. Over seeing everyone moving as a unit for years on out from the highest point of the fortress, holding in his paw, his brother’s necklace. “The wolves of Ironfang will live on.”
Here we fast forward to Chase’s time, born to king Theinas and Scarlett of the amber valley wolves, a combining bound to increase the packs itself. Unity increased and though enemies war parties still dared to claim the forge and numbers of the pack for their own needs and greed. Were still victorious on the bloodline of Kahma, dare as they may, one year in his time, they’ve almost were over ruined by a new enemy, wolves and their alliance, bears. Tricked to aid the enemies the bears thought they would split the bounty. Yet in the dire hour Theinas, a black coat and ash grey undercoat and decorated with a crimson mark he ran in with his iron helm, and body casing to push the last bit of strength they all had, rallies his people to defeat death itself. Heavily damaged they all lift their heads to howl so the realm can hear that they will not fall. Theinas returned to his domain to see his offspring, four sons and one daughter. Ryan is a dark grey coat with black feet and eyes of a white moons winter’s night. He was his father’s son, his successor, his heir. Chase, another dark grey with charcoal marks and harvest moon golden eyes, Renji a smaller male with a medium gray coat, light gray underfur and black mask over his face, Shok’avis a fine dark grey and light under with light blue eyes like himself and his joy, Lani a white wolf with aqua marine eyes like her mother. All in a swarm in play with Ryan being on top, Chase in seconds and poor Rejni, being the toy on the bottom as he calls out in a whine for his mother. Lani, the gem to her mother was nesting beside her watching her brothers in play and Sho’kavis, laying along the floor of their den chewing on twigs, ‘Odd boy’ his father thought as he never seemed interested in play fights, only to relax and remained neutral state of mind. He had hopes for Ryan and Chase, Renji would have to a ways to go to prove himself if he was to be one of the wolves of war for the Ironfang. He would be harder on him and Sho’kavis. Lani was her mothers’ duty taking a bit after her to being the gentle face versus the stubborn and strict Theinas. The boys and girl grew fine in their early years, training took place in the training grounds and his daughter went to the medicinal ward of the living quarters with the others. Chase and Ryan were head on head for first place, for being the best. The two simply were in since but as Ryan was a similar to being Kahmas’s equal, was always the strongest, witted, and clever. Chase could never beat him. Still wouldn’t stop him from trying. Ryan overall was one to be feared in his prime, even his own father thought of him being over thrown, it brought him pride and tension as he remained to keep Ryan beside him. Chase though was right behind him, it was a roll of a dice but Ryan was heir. Chase was part of the guard, his height and build was fitting for it, he had no objection it allowed him to be away from the clutter of wolves in the kingdom and he would have the vast wilderness to roam with his regiment. If Sho’kavis would be found, he would be there with him. He was always off relaxing somewhere with friends, ignoring nor caring for the duty that he was assigned. Poor Renji was still the chew toy of the family, smaller than his brothers but bigger from others, Chase would be the one to save him if it was too much and comfort him. He favored him over all. Renji was more over into finding adventure away from the life of war and the disappointed gaze from his father and from his eldest brother, perhaps a family of his own, to find love and whereas Ryan who fathered pups whenever he finds a dame who let him and never took a bride for now. Sho’kavis didn’t care, just as long as he was around good friends, he was content. Lani their precious and youngest sibling, she was blessed with many suitors who dared to come around even though who her father is and oldest brother is. Sad to say that some wolves who thought they would be the one to have her, were either driven out for a few days and returned, or were badly hurt or if Ryan was there, thrown off the cliff side of the mountain with the few others whose bodies were being carved away by the ravens. No one was yet suited for their sister; she was focused on her work with her mother and the other low borne wolves that tended to wounds, sickness and minor injuries. Chase loved the wilderness, aside the clanking of the armor they wore for that specific tasks, the armor was slimmer for long distance running but always wore the crest with pride.
Things were well, as long as he the outer post and not being there when Renji was being scolded by his father, Sho’kavis would find the right time to slip away before had so he never got a bite to the flank. On the days when they weren’t on duty, or in the bone-breaking training with the others, Chase and Renji would lay about the grass hills talking and joking about their trainers or things they would stress on. The two were close, always have been and the sensitive subject they talked about what they would like to see before they died, Chase spoke of the endless sand where there was once life now is barren, where their forefathers first ventured out of the mad king’s lands. Renji, would tease him to look under his own roof where he had no family of his own, they laugh and he would tell Chase of his dream to see the open ocean, with his family. He had an eye on some wolves but never one actually caught his spark, his was more of peach and no war. Somewhere to grow old and know his life was of content and peace. Chase shook his head as he told him, we are Ironfang, and we are born and will die here. Little that he knew of Renji’s intentions he asked Chase, if he ever left, he would join him. Trying to get his brother to come with him, Chase would shake his head and say, that wasn’t possible, he had a duty to his father and people here to his regiment to keep the pack safe. Chase was stubborn, though it did give him an idea of another life. The two got up and raced back to the fortress, dinner was ready. After another dispute of Renji’s engagements their father grew tired and short of his lack of determination of being like him or his brothers, Renji would leave, with a sad heart from his mother and a relief of his father. A few days passed then a couple months, he wasn’t coming back. Chase’s heart was sore, his eyes gifted from his grandfather was as Kahmas, vast eye sight. He’s seen the direction his brother ran off towards. Though from the morning he left, he kept watch at their grass hill to see him return and then he made a choice to go find him and bring him home. His father wasn’t thrilled or much objected to the decision he made, but within his soul, he did miss his son too. Retrieval as given silently but he was unsure if both his sons would return, yet he looks over to his son Ryan, he’s grown masculine, feared and ruthless. He grown to not care for his siblings other than the wellbeing of his sister and mother, not even for the dozens upon dozens of pups he fathered from different faes of different packs. His father shook his head and didn’t recognize them as well. Until he settled down and fathered legitimate heirs, then he would acknowledge them. Chase left in the evening, taking cover with the shadows and night, walked for days and weeks. His paws blistered and eventually heard from a nomadic pack of wolves of the one he was describing. Told him that he went north, into a territory he didn’t know either. Sighing and thanking them he went on again. Over flat lands to rocky terrains, the air grew colder, luckily for his coat, he was built for such harsh weather. The grass died, then was covered by ice and soon, snow. Trees even didn’t have any life on them, barren old, frozen. The more he ventured towards this winter realm, the more he seen the trees filled with evergreen limbs, water was in pools, even a waterfall that didn’t freeze over. Elk whistle in the far distance. This made his stomach turn, he was hungry. Though as far as he could see, the snow fall was heavy, limiting his sight by over half. He didn’t like it. He needed his foresight, then “Ooof!” He hit a gap in the snow mound and found himself tumbling and into a red rooted patch and his sight went black. Lying unconscious in the snow for a few moments before he smelled and heard wolves nearby, his defensives went up and ears turned back, listened for the soft crunches of snow beneath, one…no two wolves. He assumed the worst and would fight for his life, without his armor he was vulnerable, yet he was trained with and without it. The interaction wasn’t one he expects; this voice was warm and welcoming.
A male and a female he talked to behind him. Chase was laying in the cold and felt light headed from the fall onto the rock. He would agree and follow them into their den site to be treated, in the back of his head would linger how to take them both out if they ever were to attack him, easy. He smiled in the back of his head and later finds out that Lord Dax and Shrew were no threat but very humble and welcoming. Later in these days in Solani, he learned to trust them and vowed his allegiance to Lord Dax. The early days he found out his brother was here, his heart leapt for joy behind his stern expression but kept no hints to his interest but listened. Then his heart and soul crashed down as he heard of his passing, and who took part of seeing it and the one to do it. His body was engulfed of the molten fire that his families forge spat out and he sought vengeance, the one will be killed and those who dared block him, they knew neither of his story, nor Renji but to have Chase there, was to call an early and horrific death. He knew Dax’s poisons but didn’t care for that; the assassination would be dealt with on his own. He waited it out, while he took the role of a guard as he is accustom to and patrolled the area, more and more he ventured out to seek out the one who took his brother, though one brisk afternoon where the snow was little and the land quiet. He saw the open water. Immediately thinking of his brother, waked to it, then stopped in place and smelled the air, “Renji…” A happy moment was never brought up, his heart sunk more as he saw the mound of snow, and a wolf was there, his brother. Lifeless and no signs of decay, the ice made that impossible. His body never to give life to the ground but encased to wither way for years on end to the ice, water and wind. He sat beside him and lifts his sadden head up to the heavens, howling a sadden song. His golden eyes gaze upon his lifeless brother whom seemed to look like he was just resting as he watched the slow coming turn of the tide. As much as he wanted to, he wouldn’t be able to bring his body back, the dead should rest where they fallen and their spirits would journey back to be with the rest of the family. Still the pull in his chest told him to stay, don’t ever leave. Regrets fell on him. He spent the night there, whereas dreams are powerful as they were, was visited by his brother spirit. He had one more thing left to do before departing the mortal realm and onto the spirit realm. “Now you arrive, a bit late ya?” His throat choked up, eyes looking into the face of his younger brother, full and proud as he took on a misty ghost like form. A short visit but he told him of the Lady he met, the ones around her and about the one who challenged him, the betrayal he felt and the realization that love didn’t come to defended him at his most needed point. He told him of he never wanted to see another in his step and that he was trying to be like his family, never backing down and accepting a slow death, he shook his head as he looked out to the waters, “Chase, never have I seen anything so beautiful than this view here. I wanted to go home to have you see it but we get lost here and it’s ever changing, still you came, you found me. This land is beautiful in its own way and you should give it a chance, stay and….”He pauses while even a spirit still felt sadness and a tear fell but as it descended it vanished and he resumed with a sadden expression. “ …and keep an eye on my children, I never seen them and yet, I hope they know from when I heard she was expecting, I was even more happier that I traveled for days finding you guys to tell you, I got…lost. Though the bound with her that led me back. I didn’t say because, well, she was busy being the role that she is, it was an idiotic move of me, I cannot simply ask for her forgiveness when it was my own doing. I’m just terrible Chase. Though I feel even now, the spiritual bond with my pups, I hope they know me though you and that….that I always loved them, my time in this realm is done Chase, I can’t stay, I feel just the guilt lingering over me. They’re better off yea? But please, stay and watch them for now at least. Please?” Chase hung his head to the snow, looking at his paws and looked to the water coming from the ocean. He agreed for his request and stayed here in Glykeria, for now. From days passing with his knowledge of his brothers’ body’s location, he kept to himself; he held a grudge and didn’t trust the Lady of Abditae. Dax and Shrew became his close friends and he vowed to protect them and Solani, another pack he’ll serve and that of his kin he knew to himself.
In the long days where the Lord and herbalist Shrew were off on trips for herbs and what other thing they needed. Days passed in the coming of war among the six packs of Glykeria, each pack was unique of different skills and qualities but there were few in each. The Lady of Abditae sought the aid of the five packs and after a couple days of council amongst themselves, they all came to agreement and were united, to be the wolves of Glykeria, under the rule of the proclaimed Queen Amunet of Glykeria. They all would have a fighting chance to live. Still learning much from his own Lord, learned a bit more to trust the Queen, he kept himself at a certain distance to observe and was titled to Lord Commander of Kingsguard. What an honor from someone who was still unsure of him, he knew that. They spoke rarely and he no longer felt the grudge but a feeling to allow another into his life, for his brother. That time did arrive. After a short needed nap, he was approached by her. Within the grass of the entrance to the fortress and soon his arrival and her curiosity were unraveled and his identity were revealed. A harsh exchange of words, both were hurt but had to move on, as life goes, minutes went on what seemed like forever. His identity known and the lost they both had. He and her let bygones be bygones and welcomed the feeling to trust, as he vowed to serve her as her Lord Commander of Kingsguard and a wolf of war, a Wolf of Ironfang.
Plague and war came to Glykeria. An enemy that was not like any other they have ever faced, claimed that frozen world. Many he knew had fallen. Those who escaped were quick to do so. Him among the others who took to the pups and old to escort them out. The kingdom was no more and he sought another life after he found a home for the escapees and sought a new place, for them. Even if it meant leaving his two pups behind for a couple years to do so. He wasn't really a father, a dad they deserved. Bothered by this, it'll eventually leave him to abandon them and go about his own way. The brute would walk into a valley, lush of trees and water. Life was full and vibrant. Forgetting his previous life, wished only this adventure would be his, only life. Pack of Intrepidus was his home, he serving as a now promoted VII Scout. It was very much different than performing as an assassin and a warrior. Laid back, though he was making friends. Slowly, more over than others. Is enjoying the times with them. He hopes to find a wife, cherish her as the sun lights the day. Gentle as a shimmering star lit sky. Pups if given the opportunity will be his highlight and joy.
